Mr Edmunds is a consultant ophthalmologist at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust. His ophthalmic training was undertaken in and around Birmingham and he completed advanced sub-specialist fellowships at University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff and at Moorfields Eye Hospital, London. He undertakes cataract surgery and has a specialist interest in oculoplastic (eyelid), lacrimal (tear system) and orbit (eye socket) conditions.
