Join the OcuPlan shared care team today

OcuPlan is a rapidly growing shared care scheme between ophthalmologists and optometrists for private patients. Our aim is to make high-quality private eye care affordable for the millions of people in the UK with long term eye conditions.

As healthcare demands rise, patients with chronic stable conditions find themselves between a rock and a hard place. Private insurance often excludes cover for monitoring of long-term, potentially sight threatening eye conditions and the NHS is overwhelmed by demand. This results in patients experiencing cancelled appointments, and poor continuity of care.

OcuPlan can solve this by providing affordable and accessible eye care to patients who need regular professional monitoring, and we achieve this through our network of ophthalmologists and optometrists. OcuPlan is committed to treating you and your patients with fairness, openness and honesty.

Which patients are suitable?

Patients suitable for OcuPlan include those with some or all of the following conditions. Stable glaucoma and glaucoma suspects, ocular hypertension, AMD or diabetic retinopathy. The conditions will have been previously diagnosed by an ophthalmologist and are now in the monitoring phase.

How OcuPlan Works

Patients choose their ophthalmologist and optometrist from our list of registered professionals, and a care package to suit their medical needs. The packages include a defined number of consultations each year with a consultant ophthalmologist in their private rooms, and the same number of OCT and visual fields with an optometrist.

When a patient registers with OcuPlan, they are provided with a membership card containing a QR code. This card is scanned each time they visit their optometrist and Ophthalmologist, which allows OcuPlan to trigger the payment processes automatically and keep track of things. Ophthalmologists can choose to either register with our standard OcuPlan fees, or if they'd prefer they have the flexibility to decide their own OcuPlan fees. Our standard fees are designed to be socially aware and help us to provide patients with affordable OcuPlan care packages starting at just £19.99 per month.
