For National Macular Disease Awareness Week, our founder and consultant ophthalmologist Dan Calladine answered the questions patients ask most about AMD.

During National Macular Disease week in June 2023. OcuPlan hosted a patient webinar focussing on common AMD questions. It was hosted by OcuPlan founder and consultant ophthalmologist Dan Calladine.
Mr Calladine spoke for approximately half an hour on the most common questions that he is asked in clinic when seeing patients with macular disease. He then hosted a live Q&A.
The questions Mr Calladine focussed on were:
- What is AMD and why have I developed it?
- What is the difference between wet and dry amd?
- Is there any treatment for AMD?
- What can I do to help slow the progression?
- What signs should I be looking out for, for wet AMD?
- Are there any aids that can help me around the house?
- Where can I get more help or information on AMD?
